Computer troubles

My husband computer started to crash on him. He’s hard drive was making a lot of noise and he decided he would try to get another hard drive and make it work that way. He did not realize how much trouble that would cause him. We did a system recovery, and it did not work. Great he just lost all his files because he does not back his computer up. He is not a patient person when it comes to getting things to work the way he wants them to.
I tried telling him what to try and well either I wasn’t clear in telling him or I should have just done it for him. He finally gave up on the computer, well he ended up with my new desktop computer which is good because his mother board is seeming to have troubles. I figured give him my desktop computer because I only use it for music, so we will have to get me a new computer later which will need 2 hard drives. We will start saving up again, wonder how long this will take to save for.
Craig was rather stressed about all the data he lost on his computer I have a few friends who are computer techs, so i told him not to get raid of the hard drive and I would talk to them. He told me if I wanted to try to get it to work then I could. I decided I would give it a try with out him at the computer, it is easier to explain things when your doing it and not trying to get them to do it.
I did a system recovery. It acted like it didn’t go through but i told it to continue, and it did it took it about a hour to figure out how to get to the main part of the computer.
my husband CD ROM drive was not showing up, which is a whole other issue. We did not have enough floppy disk to take care of all his data. My husband remembered he had a port in his PC which allows him to copy music onto his PSP ( Portable Play Station) It got all of his important information saved and allowed him to save to his new computer. Way to go PSP makers they are data savers…
It is funny because my husband prides himself on all his computer knowledge, and I really don’t think I have much knowledge, But i do know a lot about computers. I was surprised that the PSP memory stick would actually do that. I think soon I will go to Target or Wal-mart and get him a Flash drive so he can have his data saved there too.
Our computer maker wanted us to pay them 60 bucks for help and only for 3 days worth of help, we decided that wasn’t going to work.
