Just Pass Me By

Yes you read the title right, and it was almost just like a bar, they had beer. I was a little shocked when I found out about this, Yes we are a good team at work and get our work done and get it done a head of time. So it was nice of them to throw us a happy hour, but they should have watch how much some of the staff were drinking. Most companies I have worked at will have things like this after business hour at a restaurant and will not pay for the alcohol.

Honestly I did not have a good day at work. First thing this morning almost I was yelled at by someone for being happily married. He was bitter because he is in the middle of a divorce. Well I do have to say he has a Biblically reason to leave his wife, or should I say his wife does. Well he seemed to calm down with the adult drinks, and was a little nicer and easier to deal with.

Honestly I have never worked at a company that had a happy hour and actually served us beer, I did not drink, they had the option of pop. We had Mexican lunch today it was pretty good but I know the place they order from isn’t a place I could eat because of my pork and beef allergies.

A few of the men got a little hyper after having a drink and well we’ll just say they where rather honest about looking at woman in a sexual way. I think they might want to rename the company sometimes because sex is talked about even with out drinks. Then they got on the topic of hitting woman, I have a look my grandma and husband probably know well. The Look of “this is not funny at all, and I am becoming pissed.”

At one point in time our boss had to come and tell 2 guys they needed to calm down, or else she’d get in trouble and then we wouldn’t be allowed to do this again. She said people where still working and this isn’t a bar. Personally I think they where looking for trouble not supervising how much Alcohol people where taking, you have to think Alcohol and working doesn’t always work very well and may hinder other workers, thank goodness no one was on the phone during this time.

I am growing so unhappy at this assignment but I know my husband and I need the income so I just hang in there, and say nothing. I should say something but then I won’t have work and I will never get back to college. I feel so trapped here, I am in the middle of my degree and can’t even go back to school because I am not making enough money to pay my tuition.
