Just Pass Me By

Don’t honk, don’t cut me off, just pass me by!

You just have to dream

I got the interview I finally got the call I was waiting for this morning it work me up at close to 9 am but that okay. Now I just have to figure out what my strengths are and speak up my excellent customer service skills. Then hopefully I remember all my skills I gained from one of my hardest office job where the managers sent me callers they where unable to deal with. It funny I wasn’t a assistant manager or trainer but when they couldn’t deal with a caller it was sent to me.

I haven’t been working so I been staying up way passed my bed time for a day job. I am hoping that this job will work out for me, sometimes tells me it just might. Maybe if it works out and I get hired as a full employee then in a couple of years during a vacation my hubby and I can do a royal caribbean trip. I think this could be fun for us, and then maybe in a few years we can go to Israel and maybe tour some parts of Europe too. I know before I can plan something like this I have to have a job, but sometimes you just have to dream.

Otis wants more attention

Otis has been driving me batty lately. Normally he a good cat, maybe it’s his old age or something. The last couple of nights Otis feels the need to meow and run around the house. During the day his been very quiet, no running or anything. Sometimes when Otis keeps us up I will keep him up during the day when I am home. I know sounds mean but normally it works to keep him quiet for a while during the nights. Maybe Otis is trying to get more attention, not sure how much more he needs because I am home all day right now.

Nothing wrong with Otis he just feels the need to talk and talk. He been trying to climb the wall lately to, he has his claws still so you can imagine what that sounds like one the wall. He hasn’t been hiding up in his normal place above the refrigerator. When we first moved in that was Otis favorite place, hubby was always worried Otis might jump on our heads I knew Otis would not do that to us, so it never worried me.

The only thing he has not clawed so far this week is our airbed in the bedroom I am surprised but happy. We had to get another one a few months back because it sprung a leak by the motor which wasn’t cause by Otis, the seal unglued it self. We went and got another bed as soon as we could maybe with the way Otis been acting we should have got a memory foam mattress At least that he wouldn’t be able to pop. Otis is a good kitty he doesn’t even use his claws on the bad, I know this because he stepped on me and no claws came out. I am not sure how he did it because normally when he walking on me his claws get me.

Not the call I wanted

Every time my phone rang today I was hopeful it would be for my neat job opportunity but it never was. I called my placement coordinator and she said no word yet. My husband called me toward the end of his shift and told me he broke his glasses. He can’t see at night with out them so he would have to come and get me and have me drive him to get new eye glasses. Okay this wasn’t something we needed, but we went to a eye doctor and she told us use supper glue. We went to Wal-Mart and stop at their eye clinic. Did you know that a Jeweler can repair eye glasses they are able to weld them.

So we walked over to the jewelry store, we where expecting to spend about 24, but it ended up being 30 not a big deal we can deal with it. My husband has a nice car, I like driving it but I think it might be time to get the breaks done to bad the breaks are not a part of not a Dodge Charger accessories and that the car isn’t even a Dodge. My husband does not feel safe driving with out his glass, I am pretty blessed because I do not need glasses, and have no night vision problems.

I have noticed I have gotten into a bad habit I have always been good at remembering where I am going and how to get to places. For some reason I have lost my confidence since hubby and I travel a lot and I can’t remember how to get anywhere. What I need to do is start leaving him at home, and go on my own because it would force me to recall it on my own and not use my husband all the time to tell me where I am going. Once I find a place driving with out directions or directions of my own I can find it easier.

My husband call today was not the call I wanted, it would have been nice to have my interview set up. Don’t get me wrong I like hearing from my hubby but sometimes I get excited that the phone rang, and then it like oh it just my honey.

Water please

Water please, but not in my shoe. That the kind of day I have had to day. Maintenance came over this morning to fix my leaking pipe. They asked me to clean out under the sink or at least remove everything. I didn’t mop it out or anything and you know when you living in a apartment for 17 months it can get dirty under there. I told the guy if he had to get under there I would gladly clean it up for him. I honestly do not remember if I have ever cleaned under there, I have cleaning stuff under there and garbage. Garbage is taken out daily by my hubby.

The guys said he would not need to go under the sink, I told him nothing is every easy when it comes to me so if you need to let me know and I will clean it better. Well he should have took my word when I told him Nothing ever easy. He got the outside pipe fixed, after running the water for like 20 minutes because I am on the first floor and have 2 other floors above me. When they turned on the water for the building suddenly I sprung a leak under my sink all over the place. He should have believed me, and had me clean it up under there. Doing work for me is like trying to run a mile in a pair of golf shoes, which is not easy.

They replace the pipes under my sink also, who ever did the work before them did not do it right. They finally lift and lift me a nice little mess to clean up. No big deal I can clean it up at least they didn’t leave me a disaster.

A neat job opportunity

I am waiting by my cellphone as patiently as I can. I had a phone interview yesterday that went well. You know there one question I hate being asked is what accomplishments have I made at jobs. I am sorry I have never wrote a list of my success, but boy I sure do remember my failures, or short comings. I don’t focus on those, they just stand out so much more. The job I am waiting to hear back on is a Customer Service position, with a company who deals with properties, and loans and apprizers I am not sure what part I will be in.

I think this could be a good job for me because I am good at working with people plus I have family who are in real estate. Not saying I would ask them questions or anything but I think I could learn how to do the parts of the job I haven’t done yet. I still have to get through the face to face but that should be fairly simple. Normally when I do phone interviews and those go well I do not have to worry about the face to face because those always go well for me.

Oh so cold

Oh so cold, I woke up last night and had to turn up the heat. Normally I do not need to turn up the heat once we get the apartment to the right temp. It has been warm lately and we got hit with a cold snap. Living in Minnesota can be a challenge during the winter for people like me who do not get to go out to much because of Asthma. I am used to this being a problem, at least I have a work out room near me apartment and can get their with out to many problems. The main problem is during winter sometimes the house can be unhealthy because of in door allergens I am used to this.

We have sprung a leak under our sink, I wonder how long it been leaking because it starting to smell musky down there. So I am pretty sure there is some mold or something growing under the sink. That aught to be fun to clean up. Mold is always hard, I know a bleach solution works sometimes, I wonder how well Pine sol would do. The only thing I used the water for is cleaning dishes, running the dishwasher and some cooking. I do not drink the water, I don’t drink any tap water. A few years ago I got a parasite from a rest stop in WI, maybe WI rest stops should do a Phase I environmental test or something.

Minnesota normally has okay drinking water, but I just don’t much are for the taste of the tap water here. I am not sure what it is maybe I am used to Washington Tap water, but not sure there is any difference between the water. All tap water is filters. I ran out of water so I did the Honey can you please go to the store and get me water. Nice thing about being married, you can always ask hubby to help you out. Since he knows I don’t do well in winter he is more then happy to help. I miss summer

Neighbors and parents

I have been talking about my husband parents a lot lately, I have been worried about them because of some of their so called friends. Dad and mom would give the shirt off of their back if they needed to and they never really complain, when people are taking advantage of them or maybe they just don’t realize it. There are a few things I need to talk to mom and dad about and let them know what happening is not okay.

My husband parents has a couple of neighbors who have moved a few miles away from them, and have only been known for about a year if I am not mistaking if that. my husband and I over the summer meet this family and both felt uneasy with them being around. They claim they are coming over to help mom and dad, cook meals and help clean. Well it seems they cook meals for their family along with mom and dad using mom and dads food I am not sure how much help that is, they are on a fixed budget. When they make a mess they leave it for our other neighbor to clean it, who has graciously offered to help mom and dad with house work and cooking.

This neighbor who has been helping mom and dad with making meals, cleaning, and laundry, has brought to our attention something that concerns all of us. Another family who claims they are helping mom when they are over if  mom lays down on her fold out coach, this girl goes and lays and mom and dad’s mattress. I thought they were over there to help clean, cook  and not to take a nap. If mom isn’t on the coach then she in her bedroom and low and behold you will find this person on the coach when mom is resting.

I am not saying, I have a problem with this person being quiet, but if she there to take care of mom and dad then shouldn’t she be actually working. I thought if you made a mess you clean it up and help mom and dad with what they need done around the house and not leave it up to another person to clean.

Otis and Grooming

Otis is a long hair cat. He is wonderful I love him dearly but all long haired kitty need to be groomed a little more then a short hair cat. I have to groom Otis at least every other day if not everyday. After I got married grooming Otis was placed on the back burner and the cat was lucky to get groomed twice a month. Lately I have been trying to get to him at least every other day, which I am not sure Otis likes to much.  He is a well feed cat. I have him on Purina sensitive system, it one of the more affordable foods out there, and it seems to keep his coat nice. I know diet can effect a cat fur, lately Otis has had a little bit of dandruff not a big deal.

The last couple of times I decided to groom Otis he has been getting a little naughty. Today while brushing him Otis decided it be a good idea to turn around and bit gently the calf of my leg. It didn’t hurt or anything not like he was trying to get his teeth in. I was brushing his tail, he hates his tall and back left leg brushed, Otis turned around and bite my finger. I would still call it a love bite it wasn’t hard enough to hurt me.. Then he mewed at me, and gave me those kitty eyes of gotcha.

I told Otis don’t bit me. Then he turns around and bit me yet again not hard though. After grooming Otis I normally will show him what I got from him, doesn’t matter how many times I show him his hair, he still tries to attack it. Why does he try to attack his own hair when he won’t even attack my pet rats, or other various rodents I have had in the past. My husband jokes sometimes about the cat thinks it needs to be a hair ball to clean up.

Boy you should see the size of some of Otis hair balls, because Otis is a black and white cat his hairball normally come out black. I have noticed when brushing him I get more black hair out of him. My husband one day asked me if Otis was eating his own pooh, I told him no that all hair.. Have you ever noticed how cat will puke up a hair ball and then move somewhere else and puke up more of that hairball and then move again and puke up some more. Can’t he just stay where he belongs in the same place, the only time he don’t move is when he puking in one of our shoes. Have to look in the shoe make sure Otis didn’t leave a present, normally if I see paper or something pulled over the shoe I know to look in it.

It is important for Otis to be groomed often, to keep him from getting hairballs because it a nightmare when they get stuck inside of the cat. Otis for the most has never had troubles from hairballs because I always make sure I get him groomed..  I have only had one hairball scare since having otis, and that was to a allergic reaction to hairball remedy. To me it looked like oil, or some kind I don’t remember the name of it, I just know I do not go for hair ball remedy. I know Grooming and bathing him works the best to keep his loose hair under control.

How stupid

A few days ago I was talking to a friend about her dog. She got a nice little dog, I’ve never met him but I know he gotta be nice because his owners are great people. She was telling me that someone put oil in their yard. How stupid, so what the dog barks or makes some noise that doesn’t mean you have a right to put oil or poison in their yard to stop the dog from barking.

If you don’t want a dog barking at you make friends with it, dogs are great pets if they are raised to be great pets. Yes some dogs have done damage and caused trouble, but that’s normally because of the owner. I do not believe in bad pets but in bad owners. If a owner is going to teach that dog to bit and cause mayhem then it the owner fault not the dog. I am getting so sick of hearing about animal abuse.

My friend had to stay up all night with her dog, she was so worried that her dog might not make it. The dog is fine after having coal given to him, which sucks up the oil and helps. It is bad for a dog to throw up poisons because they aspirate it into their lungs. I have had both dogs and cats as pets, dogs take more work, they are more dependent on their owners, and need a lot more supervision outside in the city. My cat is a indoor cat, so he needs supervision if he leaves the house, so it less likely he get poisoned, because his environment is watched closely.

I hope my friend can find who ever done this and press charges against the person who did this. I believe when someone causes damage they should have to pay the vet bill for what they did, or replace the pet if they kill it. It seems like lately even the news is telling us more and more about animal abuse and cruelty then in the past. I have heard more of my friend telling me stores about things neighbors or passerby’s have done to their pets. We should know better then picking on a dog behind a fence this makes dogs uneasy.

One of my closes friends became my friend in my old building because when I heard his dog crying I was willing to confront it.. I said I hear your dog crying alot what are you doing to him. His dog was one of the friendliest dogs, I have ever met. I found out that the dog just wanted his master there all the time. I am surprised this struck a friendship between us, but as we talked we found out we had things in common, I had Otis, who liked his dog. He was one of my friends in the winter when i had no car, and Otis had a allergic reaction I knocked on his door freaked out. He took me to the nearest emergency vet. Otis was fine. Now I am not saying accuse someone of abusing their pet is the best way but maybe get to know the person you suspect of being a jerk to their pets.

Dealing with aging parents

Do you have older parents? Have you ever noticed that they will try to minimize what they are going through? They simply do not want to admit to not being able to take care of the other ill spouse, and will try to do it even though it may make their sistuation so much worst. We are kind of facing this. Mom is having one of her stubborn streaks.

The doctors want my husband mom to be in a care facility for a month, after her surgery. She needs to have therapy to regain strength, she recently had a stroke which is affecting her left side. Yesterday she told the doctors with no uncertain terms was she going back to the home she was at last time, and that she could stay home because their neighbor would take care of her.

My husband mom is able to walk some, but her balance isn’t the best and she is still not strong. She really needs the added care, and their neighbor no matter how well intention probably can not take care of mom 24/7. What happens if she falls in the middle of the night, dad can’t pick her u, and what if their neighbors aren’t able to come to their aide.

I can not tell you how many times, my husband and I have had to tell the Nurses that dad not strong enough to pick up mom if she falls down. Mom has fallen many times at home since this summer, amazingly she has broken no bones, and hasn’t busted open her head yet. How much longer are we going to have before she finally injures her self so bad that she will not be able to go back home again.

Tonight we talked to mom nurse. The nurse seemed to know how to deal with mom and said that she would find out how the overnight goes. She said she had no trouble with mom but the overnight staff has had trouble and had to have a bed alarm on her to make sure she didn’t try to get up on her own. The nurse said if they have trouble then tomorrow she would talk to mom, and try to get her to agree to go to a facility for rehab. My husband and I were planning on having me talk to mom, to try to get her to see right now the safest place may not be at home for her, but in a month if she does rehab and tries hard she can go back home.

I really do not want to be the one to have the talk with his mom, I don’t want her or the rest of the family to think I am the evil daughter in law. I know my concerns do not make me evil, and I almost wonder if us standing idly by is being evil and not helpful. I do not want to his parents harmed or anything but at the same time I don’t want them angry with us neither.. This is such a hard place to be in.
