Where’s Otis

On Thursday I called Management to my building I woke up with no hot water, but plenty of water flow. I had asked is there any reason why I do not have hot water. I think my husband and I are always the first to call and complain about problems in the apartment building. If something not right we are saying something. Earlier in the month we went to do our lease and our manager knew when we said there was nothing wrong with the apartment, she could trust that because normally we are the first to say something to them.
Well they ended up turning off our water, because when they went down to see what was going on with the water heater and boiler they found out it had sprung a leak and needed to be fixed. They didn’t bother knocking on my door to let me know they be cutting to water off in my building. So when I went to the faucets to try and get water for my plants and well lunch, there was none. Okay no big deal, I will handle it. They at least was able to turn on the cold water for the night. Friday I got up and needed to run over to the office and check mail in my building.
I came back and I guess I didn’t close the door all the way. I was in my office and started working on downloading stuff into my MP3 player. It nice to have it on the buss on Fridays because I can listen to what I want, and sometimes it just nice not to listen the radio or have to bring a big bulky CD player. Well I heard the door moving, and went out to see what was going on. The door was wide open and I couldn’t find Otis. Otis is a indoor cat who is not declawed, but he wouldn’t exactly have the skills to stay alive in this little city of mine. We live by 4 major roads, grant it one road is about a mile east of here so it not close but it is close. The other 3 roads are very close like surrounding our buildings, so I worry about Otis getting out of the apartment. We live on the first floor of the building.
I called for Otis and looked in his hiding places including the one where he hasn’t used since hubby locked him in, and called him. Well he didn’t come out of where ever he was. I went out in the hall way and 2 of our maintenance guys where out having a smoke break holding open the outside door and another outside door was opened. I asked both of them if they’ve seen a cat, Otis would be hard to miss unless they where blind. Otis is a large cat, and also doesn’t seem to like men a lot so I kindof figure if he got he probably didn’t go through that opened door, probably the other door. Well I look through the hall way no cat.
Otis sometimes will not come to a verbal call, he a cat probably figures I have to sleep. Now I know Otis loves his cat food and will come running for his bag shaking even if he has plenty of food in his dish. I decided first I would try in the apartment first, I was shaking his bag and calling him. He finally came out of the bedroom where was he hiding I have no clue, maybe he got behind my hangers and clothes and it’s easy to hide behind my clothes hangers. I have no clue, he sure did coming running out.
Well now the cat is found and I can get ready to go and meet my husband.
