Jenny,
Sounds like your a smart driver, the same thing happens here in Minnesota. Since I know where your from, and now how they drive down there, yes they do drive a little to fast. How do you gain expereince with out driving in it, simply put you can't get expereince.
What gets me is those who drive as fast as they can in the snow and lose control of their vehicles, this are dangerous machines and when we are driving them we aught to keep that in mind. Driving in Snow is even more dangerous with a risk taking driver.
I do not mind the slow driver in the snow because I am normally one of those people who are driving slowly, and yes people pass me by but hey as long as they don't hit me let them pass me by.
Tonight coming home we had someone on 494 a fairly major highway driving the wrong way on the westbound lane, now this being said people in Minnesota seem to be some of the most distracted drivers.

Heyyy now! I'm a new driver to snow and such. How does new drivers of snow and ice get experience without driving on it!? LOL. I did have to drive home the other night on some sleet and my anti-lock breaks pulsed at every stop! But I took it slow and made it home. I've lived here for 4 yrs and still not used to it! Other drivers do pass me going way too fast...but that's ok..as long as they leave me be...LOL
