Just Pass Me By

My husband, dad and I went boating on Thursday, and we had a great time except for dad not listening well, Dad’s not listening well ended up getting tipping the boat over. Hubby and I fall out of the boat, Dad got a mouth full of lake water, and now the boat is halfway full of water. Dad was the only one who stayed in the boat and hubby and acted quickly to keep the boat from capsizing. We where near the dock, so our biggest fear was dad hitting his head, but lucky he didn’t, I helped him out of the boat and back into the cabin. The worst injuries were my husband straining his shoulder and me bruising up my knee. I have a good scratch on my knee. To be honest my shoulders are starting to bother me. After getting dad into the cabin, I walked up to the resort office to let him know we had a boating mishap, but he was gone. Okay we’ll have to get a hold of him later. The worst damage is probably my husband Cell phone and PSP. Thankfully, I left my cell phone in the cabin. I am hoping if my husband cell phone insurance plan will cover it. I am not sure I know they told me when I drop my phone in the cat dish by accident my phone was covered but I decided to not get the same model, so time will time. I am writing this while at the cabin. Today wasn’t a good day for us, it was probably better than any day in the city on a vacation day. The important thing is no one was hurt, and we still laugh at it. I was surprise the water was warm in the lake because it’s been cold.

We got back from our trip to the national part. We all wanted to go back out in the boat and do some more fishing. It was very windy by the time we got back, so we decided we’d wait until it died down some. It never did, so we read our books, talked and hubby and dad nap, while I did more reading. I love it up here away from everything. The only problem is phone calls are hard on the cell phone in certain areas I can only call 911. For those of my readers outside of the United States, 911 is the emergency number. I tried calling my customer service for T-Mobile because I needed to make payment arrangement for when I got back. I cannot use the internet on t-mobile neither because of the location where I am vacationing. I am glad because I do not want to have the city life interfere with my vacation. I want to have a vacation with little usage of cell phone, or internet or life in general. Dad has been doing great here too.
When we all woke up from our naps are relaxation time, we wanted to still go boating and have a campfire. It was not in the cards, the wind was so fast that the lake was white capping. This would not have been safe for boating, and shoot my hook probably would have found it ways into my face had I tried fishing. White capping is dangerous on the lake with a small boat. So we stayed in. The campfire was out of the question because the wind would have made the fire hard to control and that would not have been wise. The winds blew hard I am surprise it did not knock out the electricity here; things aren’t exactly like they are in the city. The owner even said at least we didn’t lose electric.

We went up to the Headwater in Minnesota, the head waters is where the Mississippi starts. The Mississippi River states at Lake Itasca in Itasca state park. I now can say I walked across the Mississippi river, and waded in the Mississippi river. The dog did too; she didn’t know what to think of the start of the Mississippi river it was quite funny to watch her responses. I never seen this kind of river starting it was cool. Since I know the river gets dirtier as it runs its path, I am not sure I want to see the end of it. I would feel pretty sad seeing all the damage done to it by us humans. I know the further down you go on the Mississippi the more chemicals you will find, I know each has a very small percentage and you probably couldn’t pick out which is www.testosteronecreams.org I am not a activist but I believe we shouldn’t just throw our trash in it and expect it to take care of itself.
The headwaters had some of the cleanest water I have seen in Minnesota. I am amazed how clean the water in Northern Minnesota. I have to say I don’t hate Minnesota as much anymore. I have pretty much fallen in love with this part of Minnesota where my family and I are visiting. No, I wouldn’t be willing to move here anymore than staying in MN for the rest of my life. I will always be a west coast girl. I love the Northwest but now I have a love for Northern MN as long as it is not the summer time.
We got a couple of souvenirs, to take back and I found some interesting oatmeal. I hope I like it. I really enjoyed our morning at the State Park.

I caught the first fish that could be eaten on our family trip, with my fake bait. Yes I am bring up the with my fake bait because I know some people say. “The only way to fish is with minnows and crawlers, and no other way.” Well I did it again. We were fishing at about 20ft of water and I had set my line for somewhere between 10 and 20ft. I felt a bite and set the line and then started to bring him in. He was a nice size sunny. Sunny are a sweet tasting fish, they are good and do not need a lot of flavoring added. I like the taste of sunny. I wonder where the Omega vitamins come from in prenatal multivitamin, since they tell woman not to eat fish when pregnant.

I got the first fish of our week trip to the cabin. I never get the first fish on a trip. This trip I decided to I would try fake bait. Yes fake bait, I don’t know I just didn’t want to put a fish on the hook to die for my enjoyment or something or maybe in all honestly. I have always been told you cannot fish this way or that way, you must use live bait. I have been told fishes will not bit. HAHA, I caught the first fish of the day and of the trip with fake bait. I have noticed sometimes Hubby catches more than I do but he always catches more than I do on other fishing trips, some days I caught the exact same amount as him. I know I have caught more fish the last couple of days then I caught any other time. So maybe fake bait isn’t all that bad, or maybe the fish where looking for diet pill that works. I forgot to take a picture of it. The fish was about the size of my hand still a small fry and needed to do back for more growing. It was awfully fun catching him, and honestly it was more of an accident in catching him I had just casted, was practicing my hooking, and reeled in a fish. Well I guess he did not know it was an accidental hooking, all he knew he was on my line.
