It just don’t add up

Okay how do you get 32 a month on a machine which costs 899 but was marked down to 699, and get it paid off in a year. Their add just does not add up to me. Mom and dad has someone trying to sell them a air purifier, that is 899 and they are trying to get mom and dad to make monthly payments on this. First Mom and dad have a air Purifier, so what wrong with their current one.

Today we where going to make a trip down to mom and dad but before we lift, we found out that there was a blizzard warning, so we decided it was safer to remain here and go next weekend. While talking to mom and dad we found out they decided not to get this air purifier, I am worried because the sales person seems to be very pushy and I do not want her to be pushy with mom and dad.

Mom and Dad deserve to be on vacation with at a place like Hilton Head rental and not worrying about bills and paying someone else their money for a product they probably can do with out. I was fairly disturbed this morning when the lady was telling me, mom and dad told her I have allergies and this air purifier was a cure all. When people start telling me it will heal my allergies and asthma it worries me for other people. I do not fall into this trap very easily because I know from experience not to stop meds or claim oh gee it takes away asthma. I will say my asthma has gotten better since I have been more careful with what I am eating. Food allergies are really the only thing a person to deal with because you just have to remove that irritants in your diet. Respiratory allergies due to pollen and other things like it I do not believe can be cured by a air purifier because those will always be in the air.

Next weekend we will need to go and find out where mom and dad are financially, talk to their neighbors who are preparing meals, and cleaning for them. We need to find out how they are doing and if there are any more concerns for their well being.

Where’s the red sauce

Last night my husband and I got a pizza, bread sticks and cookie dough from Papa Murphy’s. We like their pizza it’s nice because you get to choose when to eat the pizza and the pizza is never cold! We have done delivery a few times but it always takes pizza at least half hour sometimes closer to 2 hours if it even arrives. It easier to just drive the mile up the road and get the pizza we want, the funny thing is the delivery place for pizza here is like about a mile to maybe 2 miles. I just don’t get why it takes more then 45 minutes every time we order a pizza from them. Papa Murphy’s, you walk in order the pizza you want if they have no line then it takes under 5 minutes to get the pizza and go, a line might take a little longer but still quicker then ordering out and a whole lot cheaper, for everything last night it was under $16

My biggest complaint about Papa Murphy’s is that they do not give enough red sauce with their cheese bread. They give enough for maybe one person, the guy gave us a sauce for free but even with that we still do not have even close to enough red sauce.  It is amazing how little red sauce they give when they sell how many bread sticks in a thing, about 12, you’d think they give enough sauce to cover 12 of them at least.

I know I can always go to the grocery store in the same shopping center, it not that big of a deal but it would be nice to get everything I need in one stop.  There customer service has always been good, never have had a issue with them yet.

The Brat at Brueggers Bagels

Here’s how it went with the brat at Brueggers Bagel, I don’t have to ask you what you want you order the Salmon Bagel. This is really not a good way to get my husband to be friendly to you nor me. I do think I might be a little more patent to a point with rude Customer Service workers. Okay Young man, you may want to listen to a bit of advice, because you will not have your job to much longer if people call management and complain about your rudeness. Not everyone who wants a Salmon sandwich wants Tomatoes or Onion on them, nor do they want it cut into 4 pieces. Twice this brat decided it was okay to be very rude to my husband. I think we should have walked out.

On Friday night, normally my husband and I go out to eat, it is easier now since he working at the church, so I meet my husband. I normally take the bus out to meet him, it just easier to have one car there, so this is what we do. We should have went to our little Kosher deli it would have been less of a headache! We got to Brueggers bagel. I order, and most would think I am being pushy and rude but honestly I am not. Funny thing is he was almost polite to me, I told him First I would like to start with a Asiago bagel toasted please. He asked me if I wanted it toast well or light. I told him medium. Okay no problem here, then I ask him for PLain cream cheese and Salmon because I want the Sandwich and I would like Sprouts, Onions and No tomatoes but I want the tomato paste that went well, so I thought. I found out after sitting down at church my bagel had Jalapenoes on it. Not good but oh well. Now my husband Order is where it just went all to heck.
Maybe this kid does not like men, I don’t know he was so rude to my husband. I will give him sometimes my hubby isn’t the most clearest person and he tends to say what he wants but does think sometimes people just don’t get it. My husband is nice and sweet but he doesn’t deal well with rudeness, neither do I. He cut my husband Bagel in 4 pieces right away, he didn’t even wait for my husband to tell what kind of bagel it was. When my husband asked him what he was doing the brat replied with snideness. Well you wanted a bagel and we precut them. My husband was yes but I wanted the some Salmon on it. The kid says something like Oh well, and puts his bagel together, then starts adding veggies my husband does not like. My husband asked him what are you doing I don’t want those, this brat told him I don’t have to ask you what you want you told me you wanted a salmon bagel.
Well geee dah, of course he wants a salmon bagel but that does not mean he wants everything that comes with it. When my husband told him this he should have treated my husband with respect and not smarted off to him. After we where checking out he was giving us both a attitude. I have worked in customer service so I know it is a hard job. I know how it’s like to be treated poorly and my husband wasn’t being rude or unkind to him. Trust me I would tell my husband in a heart beat if he being rude to someone, I have no problem telling him so.

I told this kid, You know when you have customer ask them how they want it, and it will help you avoid issues like this. I was trying to be nice and give him a piece of advice that has really helped me in customer service. When dealing with customers it is important to make sure that they feel valued. When a customer does not feel valued they may not come back to your store. I am very disappointed in his attitude with my husband, and I will probably call on Monday and complain to management because it was very rude and no customer should be treated like my husband and I was treated. I am sure companies like Branson property have figured out good customer service skills, I hope this young kid learns quickly.

HP is a joke

Let me start out by saying I will not buy a HP computer for a LONG time!!! I am very disappointed in HP, I used to swear by them. They where the only Desktop computer I trust and I would make sure I got one right away. My husband HP recently crashed on him Oh well it was old, and we knew for months it needed to be replace.

I had given him my computer, so that he could use it to do work. Tonight we got home for church, and lost power, afterwards the computer started just fine. So we thought no more of it. It ran it self though the scan disk, and that just took a couple of minutes, there was no problem. Okay no big deal we thought. It working fine, all the sudden his hard drive started making a noise and the screen frozen on him so he restarted the computer. Now we cant get it to go any further then the stupid boot up menu. We called HP thinking we where still within our warranty.

We where like a week after our warranty. Okay first to call their customer service we got 2 representatives who did not speak English so we had to call them back until we found someone who spoke English well enough. They wanted to charge my husband 36 bucks to have someone tell us we would need a new hard drive. Geee DAHHHHHHHH we know the stupid hard drive is bad, we already figure that out, that why we are calling. Then she tells us well you can mail the computer back to us and it will be at least 300 to do all the work, but in order for me to do this I have to charge you 35 bucks. Okay this doesn’t even count the stupid mailing charge they where going to try to stick my husband and I with.

This is know the 2nd time I have had issues with HP, and frankly I am sick of it. I am tired of their horrible customer service because most of their representatives can’t speak English well enough to find their way out of a paper bag. I don’t have a problem with people who can’t speak English but don’t take a job that requires you know the language well enough to help a caller out. It bugs me that my warranty was only like less then a week pass and they couldn’t even do something for us more then lets charge you 300. Well that doesn’t even count the Office Student we lost, my Recording studio stuff that I had in there. I have lost at least 3 songs me and a friend where working on, and unfortunately I didn’t back those files up. It doesn’t count the Anti Virus that now we have to replace to, okay that is the cheapest of all the Software. The Recording studio software I can email them and ask them to help me. I have dealt with them before last time, I had a computer totally crash on me.

Lets see my husband lost all of his data, just lovely. I guess the next computer we get we will be backing up regularly.
What really gets me is I was wanting to be able to get my husband a new wedding rings but know I can not do that because, we need to get him a new computer and what ever money I get will need to be to help out with other expenses. I was hoping I could do it for Valentine Day but I guess that washed up. Maybe I will have to do it for a Chanukah Present. I do have to say I will not use HP for a long time.

I told my husband to call the Best Buy Geek Squad it’s funny, we told the guy straight out we did not buy this computer from you. He was more helpful to us then HP was, you would think HP would want to make their customers happy so that they keep their customers. It will be a long time before I buy a computer from HP maybe I will try a Dell, or some other brand. I do love my Laptop computer, it a Toshiba, I have had it for almost 2 years and no problems. Maybe I should see how Toshiba Desktops are, maybe I can do more with them.

Cellphones and texting

I have a T-Mobile Cellphone I been with them for several years. I like them, have never really had any trouble. A few month ago my best friend started texting me a lot. I was being charged for each text because I didn’t see any point in getting the Texting plan because I find texting to be a pain in the neck.. I would rather talk to the person then text on the cellphone.

My husband will also text me, he is with a different company which I do not like at all… He has a impossible time to get through to a live rep, and their stupid automated system is frustrating I think it would probably find my last nerve very quickly. I am normally a very patient person, but I hate having to fight to get to a live rep. At T-Mobile When I ask for Text Support it actually sends me  to a live person. I can ask for Customer Service, and get to a live person with out bring grilled about why I am calling by some automated fake person.

My husband recently got a new cellphone from his cellphone company, we never had issues with duplicated texts on my cellphone before getting the new phone. The first time he texted me we found very quickly my text plan was going to be ate through quickly, because it was sending each of his text at least 6 times each and each time it was taking from my cellphone text usage.  I received one of his texts that day a total of 11 times, at first I got mad at my hubby because I was trying to figure out why he was saying the same thing over and over again. He called customer service and was told it because they’re network is not compatible with my company, and told him he would need to power down his phone eventually, after I had called T-Mobile and talked to a friend who works for a cellphone company. My friend told me to have him power down the cellphone to stop the flow of texts before his company even thought of it..

T-Mobile as always was happy to help me out and give me additional texts for free which helps. The frustrating thing is my hubby has to power down his cellphone in order for me not to receive his text message more then once. I do not think I will leave T-Mobile because frankly I like their Costumer service, I don’t always like the cellphone options I have. I don’t like a 2 year contract but it sure bets the need to scream at some stupid automated speaker to get to customer Service.

Our experience at Subway

Last night my husband and I decided to stop at Subway on our way to our girl friend house. Before going out we had called her to make sure she had already eaten, which she had. We decided Subway would be easy because it right near her place, and it not expensive. I guess last night it was the cheapest we have ever at there we paid nothing.

We got their and while we where ordering their register went down. That not good because my husband and I do not carry cash on us, and I we did not stop to get money out of my account this morning for Hebrew, I gave my teacher a check because we had ran out of time in the morning and it was snowing. I offered to give them a check for our mails, no big deal i figure and the waitress told me No we don’t accept checks. I asked how do we pay, she said don’t worry about it. My husband was what does she mean don’t worry about it. I understood she meant Subway would lose money with a big percentage of  their customers because they could only take cash.

I had ordered the meal. 6 inch chicken sub, with the most of the vegies fixing, and instead of chips I order cookies, My husband did the same. They gave us each 6 cookies, I asked for 2 oatmeal raisins and 1 white chocolate mac. nut cookie. Subway is the only place I like the White Chocolate mac. nut cookies, but normally I do not want 3 of them cookies. We brought our cookies with us and I gave one to my friend. I didn’t want to give her to many because she diabetic.

Subway would have been wise to accept checks during that time, because they could have made a little bit of money. Sometimes it best to take a risk that maybe 1 or 2 checks will bounce from all their customers that don’t have cash on them. I know checks can be a pain to get cash but they shouldn’t have to many problems, doing it. I am sure they deposit their cash at a bank so why not cash the checks with the cash. At least it would not hurt the bottom line. I am figuring the Subway bottom line wasn’t hurt by that store giving out free food and to be honest I am glad it was free, it was nice but I just felt bad for the store.

eating out

Tonight my husband and I went out for dinner. We went to a restaurant called Majors here in the cities. They are a sports bar type of place. They have good food and so far I have been able to eat there with out getting sick this is a good things.

When we got their we told the host we would like to be seated, she asked if it was for the bar, we said No. She told us seating was seat yourself, so my husband and I went and seated ourselves and was basically ignored until a young waitress had seen us there.

I told my husband we would give it a couple more minutes then leave, because this is not good customer service and if we get waited on the tip would reflect how we where treated in the beginning. Our waitress came to us, and we told her what had happened, and she apologized and decided to wait on us herself. She did a great job.

She took our drink orders, and then took our meal order when we where ready. I have allergies and sometimes it is hard to place a order but this place it is fairly easy. We placed our order and we had lift overs. Yummy. Our waitress did very well, and her tip reflected it. We gave her a 20% tip which is good and what is expected for the most. Major has always had good customer service, and tonight showed that they have good customer service and are able to recover after miss communications.

Our experience at Olive Garden

My husband and myself where with my Grandma for a few days for thanksgiving. Every meal we went out to eat, I think we probably ate 3 months worth of meals out this past week. I wouldn’t doubt if I gained a bunch of weight while there. Saturday before my uncle went to work, we all had decided after he got off of work we would met him at Olive Garden by his work. He works as a dish washer at OCB, my uncle is a sweet man, I love him dearly and to be honest I am a little protective of him. My mom and he are the same age. My uncle has some mental challenges, which sometimes can be frustrating for us. Sometimes my Uncle is unable to be patient and wait for the waiter. He never is rude and never tries to get them to rush, but he will live the table and walk around outside. My Grandma and I are used to this, this is just my uncle, and he always been like that.

My uncle medications where screwed up and was making him hard to deal with, normally he will talk to me, and answer questions for me. He is close to me, I lived with Grandma as a teen. My uncle was in one of those don’t ask no question, everything fine! Well almost every subject we came to my uncle didn’t want to talk about, so that made it hard. My uncle decided he needed to test his blood sugars and lift to go to the car, the waitress came back during this time. We had already been waiting for my uncle for a few minutes and gave our drink orders. She asked if we know what we wanted yet, we said no, and I explained my uncle just ran to get something. I was polite. Well my uncle came back and tested his blood sugars at the table. No big deal even though Grandma felt the need to tell him it was wrong to do in front of other people. My husband hasn’t had a lot of dealing with people like my uncle. But He handles my uncle well. Thank G-d my husband is for the most a very patient man.

A few minutes had passed and my uncle became impatient again and went for a walk. The waitress came back, and gave my grandma a attitude. She spoke to my grandma under her breath and almost sounded snyd to me. My grandma does not deal while with rude people, she is one of those when she annoyed it not a good thing because she will take part of the tip away. My uncle came back a couple minutes later, and was ready to order the waitress didn’t come back for a while and saw him there.

We did not tell her that he has mental challenges, maybe we should have but my family is fairly private. When she came back she was still giving off a attitude, of really not wanting to do her job with my family. My uncle ordered and he is well probably the loudest one in the family. At the end of dinner she was nicer to my family. I am not sure what my grandma gave her for a tip but I hope it was not more then 10 to 12 percent. I now the normal is 15 to 20 percent for tips and I always try to tip over 15 percent but have because of bad service deducted out of their 15 percent.

I think that our waitress could have stopped and talked to my grandma when she made her comment under her breath, it may have been nothing rude but because she said it in passing it may have came out wrong. My grandma is 82 years old almost so her hearing isn’t as good as it used to be and well I know I had a hard time hearing over the background noise.

Driving directions please

Last night my husband and I were traveling from Grandma back to where we live in Minnesota. We decided to stop on our way home for dinner at a restaurant we have stopped at a few times. We had forgotten where they where, and my husband had me take the wrong exit. Okay that is easy to happen. It been at least 2 years since we have been there.

I was driving, he told me I needed to turn down Madison, I turned and after a while of Driving we entered a other town, so we thought to call the restaurant and get some direction, thinking they would know their town. We where on a major road, at least it looked like it to me. They couldn’t tell us what road we need to go to.. Well the road we where on crossed their road which was hastings. I parked for a few minutes in the other town. I decided while my husband was on the phone I would turn around and get back into the right city. We started naming streets off and they didn’t know. It started to get confusing.

Normally I do not stop at Gas stations to get directions, I will get a map and figure out where I am at. I asked the guy behind the counter where is hastings. He grabbed a map. I never thought I be thankful for a job I had 2 years ago where I had to read maps all day. I was able to figure out where the road was and which way I needed to turn.

It is interesting that the Restaurant was unable to help us figure out where we where when we were 3 or 4 blocks to the west of them, and about 6 blocks south of them. It was frustrating having to figure out were they where because they couldn’t tell us how to go their. If this wasn’t one of my husband favorite places to go, I would have told him lets go somewhere else. At least we did not end up in a bad neighborhood.

I do have to say once we got there we picked out what we wanted to eat. They have a fully cooked buffet and a raw section where you can watch the guy cook your food for you. Craig and I pick this option every time it shows us how they are keeping that grill and it less of a worry with my pork allergy.

I was the first one to notice that 2 of their sauces where mixed up. I am glad they where mixed up because I like the other sauce better then the one it was supposed to be. There meat where still frozen, so we know the meat hasn’t been out to long this is important. Meat not being handle right can make a person really sick. Meat only had a 2 hour shelf life when it is out in the open and cooked or unfrozen. I am not sure what it is when it it frozen but assuming it longer then 2 hours.

Poor Customer Service vs good customer service

Last night my husband and I went out to dinner with our friend who set us up. She wanted to go out to dinner. There are a few places, we can go out because of my allergies. We tried a branch of a restaurant we have never had a problem with and normally they handle my allergies fairly well and are accommodating. I guess when they open the new store here in my neighborhood they took all the good workers from all the other restaurants in the area. I was not impressed, I asked simple questions about simply how they made something and they couldn’t answer my question. They where unwilling to look, it was not busy.

We finally decided it would be best not to eat there no sense in possibly causing an allergic reaction. They where rather rude about my asking questions. I hate asking questions but it important to now, because forgetting to ask could be a serious problem.

My husband and I go to a couple of Kosher Restaurants in the area. They are wonderful, we don’t have to worry about the keeping of the grill, because if your kosher there are certain rules that are to be followed. The restaurant we went to last night you have to walk through the kitchen to get to the bathrooms. So I picked at their grill and cooking area, I have to be honest I am surprised of how clean they kept it. I cook often at home, and well I don’t keep things that nice looking while cooking.

When I ordered, I asked the Waitress, how things where made. When she didn’t know what all was in it she go and find out. The nice thing about this place is most of their dinners had a list of ingredients this is important for me it reduces my asking questions down a lot. My husband and myself eat kosher also so there are a lot more options at a kosher restaurant for us then at a normal restaurant. It’s nice not to have to tell them hey pork will kill me, and not to have to ask what kind of grease is being used or what’s been cooked in the grease.

Pork is a real serious problem for me, so I am always careful when I order sometimes I end up only getting stuff not cook on the grill. So it a lot of salads, and sometimes they try to sneak the pork in on you. I don’t know why but it just seems like all the none kosher restaurants are getting on this big everything has to have pork in it. If I wasn’t allergic to it I still would not eat pork. I do eat Kosher and it for religious reasons, but I don’t think I would be so careful to avoid it. I wouldn’t worry so much about the grill possible still having it on it or if they cook in the grease something pork. It wouldn’t matter healthwise.

My husband after finding out some of the things restaurants do, has for the most decided to not get fries because of the cooking pork in it. Well the waitress at our kosher restaurant was more then happy to help and answer question. What I do not get is why is it so hard to ask questions and find out the correct information for a customer. Would they do this to someone with a peanut allergy because they simply felt the need to be lazy. I realize being allergic to pork and beef isn’t a common allergy and it not my fault my body has a problem with it. I didn’t say hey have a allergic reaction it will be fun…

I have noticed some restaurants like KFC, in larger Muslim community will not use pork products. This is great it, shows KFC knows something about making customer happy, but you know there are plenty of Jewish Community in the USA with a few KFC around but they don’t do the same. I just find it odd that they would do it for one major community and not do it for another community which is just as major and large. I don’t have a problem with Muslims neither frankly I don’t care what a person is. I think KFC has the right idea, to make the customer happy, but at the same time I think it important for anyone in the Food industry to understand their community areas, and to understand allergies.Would I eat at a Muslim restaurant I probably would just don’t know of any in the area, and normally when i find restaurants that work I tent to stick with the restaurant or branch.

The thing that bugs me with my experience last night with my husband is that the restaurant was slow that we stopped at first, there was maybe 4 or 5 tables with people at it. They probably felt they had made their customer happy for the day and didn’t need to worry about making another one happy. They had plenty of staff on, so it not like they where short staffed. They had the time to go and look up ingredients, wouldn’t have taken long. Now my Kosher restaurant which was full of customers, and probably didn’t have as many staff working took the time out to find out the ingredient in the same product at the other restaurant. The Waitress did it happily, she didn’t have a attitude about it. She went and looked it up, came back and told me what was being used in it. It took her maybe 2 minutes to do this, so why couldn’t the bigger restaurant which I am sure has more customer darking their door steps, then the Kosher Restaurant in a more Jewish Neighborhood. Don’t get me wrong I am so glad they have good customer service and that they take the time out to make sure their customers are happy. But if anyone didn’t have the time to find out an ingredient it was her.

I guess my solution to the problem is to just go to the Kosher Restaurants and put my money where it would be better spent!
