Just Pass Me By

Man talk about some pot holes now since the snow is starting to melt and boy some of those potholes are bad. My car needs a bath badly I think once it gets drier outside I will probably take it in for a bath. So far I haven’t had any accident or anything happen to my car with the way people drive. Lets see the city I work in decided until April no parking on the even side of the road. I thought parking would be a lot worst but it actually been pretty good by work. I park in the garage at home, but my car is so dirty.
I am going to have to find a one a day vitamin because I been so tired lately for no reason. Well maybe I am staying up to late. One thing for sure with all the pot holes around it be hard to fall asleep while sleeping. It will be nice once these potholes are fixed because it can’t be good on the car to be hitting everything.

We have had a pretty snowy winter this year, boy I love global warming. I do have to admit I was laughing this morning, we had about 2 inches of snow, and I was watching a 4 wheel drive truck having more troubles then my little Kia Reo Cinco was having on the roads. However I did get stuck in my parking space at work and that took some patience and rocking back and forth but I finally got out and decided I had better get some gas on my way home.
Today there weren’t many dumb drivers on the roads, and people where actually watching what they where doing which I am glad because it means they might have learned something. I was able to drive at least 35 miles an hour and no faster today everywhere including the highways. I lift work early because of the snow and over staffing issues. Which is to be expected in the winter time. I am almost tempted to look at Springfield homes for sale, I am so tired of snow and more snow. I have never liked winter not even as a kid. I think G-d just made me warm blooded and I like warmth better then the cold.

To night on our way home, we ran into a few crazy drivers, the most amazing one was the one who figured she could back up to lane change. She had no signal on and almost hit me, I wonder who fault that would have been, if she was backing up and I was unable to avoid hitting her. I was only going 35MPH so I was able to react and be wise. The others was someone trying to stop in front of me for no reason, one being followed by a police man, driving on the wrong side of the road on a 4 lane street. That one I moved over to the right side of the road and slowed down, because I wanted to be out of the way, for the police and boy I was hoping the guy wasn’t going to do something stupid.
It would be unpleasant to have been late home because of some crazy driver. To bad crazy drivers can be gotten rid of like getting rid of blackheads. On my way home hubby told me he appreciated my driving. We all know if I am driving we are safe because I have learned both offensive and defensive driving. The thing I have never been able to figure out when you try to allow people to merge in they don’t want to but know if you don’t want to let them and your going speed they try very hard to get into the same place your occupying.

I remember when I started looking at getting a new car, and having to call my agent for a couple of auto insurance quote, even though I went with a different car then I got quoted I figured it wouldn’t be much different and was right.
My Kia Rio Cinco is big enough to carry a good amount of stuff in the back, but also small enough to park it in a smaller space. I don’t normally like green but I really like the color. Today I was very glad I had a small car, I was on the highway heading home, I wasn’t needed at work, and some idiot was in the middle line going about 30 miles an hour, so I decided I would speed up a little and move over, what I didn’t see is someone else had the same idea but was going closer to 90 miles an hour. I was able to get out of the way with out hitting the other person, and with out being hit myself, I hit the breaks and think goodness the car does what I command it and it wasn’t icy out side. After Mr or Ms I am driving way to fast past me up, I switch over and then the mr I am going to drive so slowly that I drive a sane person insane, was still going as slowly as they possibly could, it is fairly frustrating.

The other day my husband and I where driving somewhere. The roads were still pretty slippery at the intersections. I was driving down the street heading home, and some one decided to see how close they could call it to me getting to them. Hopefully they have stainless steel drums for breaks because they almost spun out on the road. They where making a right turn and took it way to fast and it was at a stop sign, at least I saw them and was able to slow down and avoid hitting the guy.
It is amazing how fast people try to drive when they can not control their cars, or trucks. It seems like people don’t realize that the vehicle they are driving can seriously hurt someone or kill them. In the winter time roads are slippery, I am not talking about staying with the flow of traffic that doesn’t bug me when I am stuck in slow moving traffic because of the weather but my goodness if everyone else is going close to speed it does bug me to have someone going 10 miles a hour and think this is cool or okay. If you can’t drive in the snow that what the city bus is for if you live in the city.
In winter months especially drivers need to give extra time to get to where ever they are going. Make sure there is plenty of breaking distance between you and the car ahead of you, and if you must make a lane change, make sure you don’t just about hit someone because you’ve lane change with no accounting for other driver errors. I hate winter and you know I don’t want to have to wait for help because someone didn’t drive with caution.

My car has no dents and I don’t plan on getting any of them. We went to the casino friday for dad dinner. I wonder if someone like Dolan Designs does their decor, who knows. Well we finish or dinner, and was getting ready to leave the casino to stop at the gas station. I had pulled out of the space and was about to go forward when an idiot decided to take a turn way to fast in the conditions we had and lost some control of his car. He almost hit both my car and a car which was parked, I was sure he would end up hitting me. Luckly the good L-rd must of been listening because he missed us by a few feet.
So far those of you who don’t know how to drive in the winter stay off the road, and for those of you idiots intentionally driving stupidly stay off the roads. Now I do not know if the person was drunk and frankly I don’t care but I would have cared if he hit me.
Dad had asked what I would have done if he hit me and I said I would have sued him for lost time, and injuries and replacement/repair of the car he crashed in to. I would have went after him, for damages caused to the family. Probably not more then that, but shoot it would be tempting, because he would have hit my side of the car and probably hit me, which at his speed hard to say who would be doing the suing. At least the idiot didn’t hit neither cars and I didn’t go ahead and get into a accident.
Remember in snow and ice give enough time for stopping go slowly around turns and do not slam on the breaks.

I will tell you what, I like my new kia it’s been cold the last few days, and boy that car warms up quickly and throws out hot air like you wouldn’t believe. Kia seems to be growing in popularity or maybe it’s because I have one now it seems like I see more Kias. At least I will not have to replace anything in the car except for oil anytime soon not even a water filters. Most of the stuff was worked on already by the mechanic who I bought it from. I am getting on average 27 miles per gallon, now this is simply amazing because 3 night this week I got trapped in very ugly traffic and didn’t run out of gas or go under 27 mile per gallon on gas. My biggest complaint is that the tank isn’t very big so the max city driving I gotten is 230, hwy will probably be max of 350 because it depends on traffic how well the car does on gas.
I have a CD player so I was able to play a sound track today that I got with my new Persona game, I like the sound track so having it in the car was nice.
Lets see the biggest problem is my yellow thing expired and I still don’t have tabs I guess if I don’t get them by tomorrow I will call the dealer again and tell him he needs to give me another yellow thingy for the window, or pay for parking tickets if I get any. I probably wouldn’t do that but it would be funny if I did. I am hoping the dealer ship is right that I won’t get ticketed because police know sometimes dealers take a while. We’ll see, probably worried about nothing. I do have to say I like a car which heats up within 4 city blocks or 5 to 10 minutes. It’s great having a heater. I still would recommend kia to friends and family. Yep I am know a Kia fan.

This morning I was on my way to work. I got off at my exit and there was a Semi truck in front of me. I don’t know how I do it but when ever there is a semi truck in front of me at that intersection I play follow the leader. I wonder if they have video surveillance equipment there, hopefully I will not get a ticket. I haven’t yet, but I don’t often run that one. Good thing my insurance agent doesn’t know sometimes I just well follow the leader and at least I have never gotten into an accident, I have been blessed.
We got our insurance update from them and I guess it went down to under 200 for 6 months, which is great. Compared to some other companies. We are being rewarded for our clean and safe driving, but some days I wonder how I got it. Like this morning grant it the other light hadn’t changed yet, so I was okay, good thing no cops where around.

This morning I was driving to work. It was a little rainy out and I was running on time. So I wasn’t rushing but boy I wish I would have picked a different route. I got off the highway where I normally do for am shifts. I had no trouble on any roads and the garage door actually open on the first try. Normally in the garage I am tempted to drive right throw it after about the 5th time of driving over the tubby thing which tells it to open. I think people in MN haven’t learned polite road manners, which means winter driving will be a nightmare, seems people are getting ruder and ruder. Normally I try not to lay on the horn but this morning I felt I needed to. I drive a van and well there’s not much room for me to go right or left before I eat up the space. I think maybe during the winter instead of staying home, I should do a orlando vacations.
This morning I made my left turn on the road which will eventually get me close to work, and was behind a guy going 20 miles an hour. I decided to pass him it was on a 4 lane street. Well when I went to pass the person they started speeding up and coming into my lane. I honked tried to warn him he was getting a little to close, they honked back and kept trying to get close to me. I was actually worried the guy was going to run me onto the median and into the tree coming up. I finally hit the gas and speed up I figured if he was dumb enough to keep at it I would call for help. Being a woman, that feeling threatened by someone with a big truck would get me help pretty quickly.

I am starting to wonder if my van has a red bulls eye or a sign which says hit me. Lately it seems like drivers have gotten dumber. On friday I was driving home form work and had 2 people decide to make a right turn from the left lane right in front of me, and then when I finally got home, some idiot almost hit me head on, in the driveway. Had I not been just about on the grass she would have hit me. This is the 2nd or 3rd time they have almost hit me. I think they see my van and they like to get as close as possible to me. Not sure why.
Winter coming and with people driving this stupidly, I not sure i want to see them on the road once the snow starts flying. Seriously vehicles can kill a person, and some people don’t drive with the responsibility they should, they drive like they are the center of the world. oh well, so far I been able to keep my self out of trouble.
That’s the important thing I tend to anticipate what people will do. I drive assertively, and try hard to keep my eyes on the road and what’s around me. It’s important with anything you do to know what you getting into and what where your going. Driving isn’t like writing alli reviews it takes concentration and doesn’t end until your off the road and parked safely.
